With the incredibly harsh winter we've experienced, all the cold and snow, most of us are looking forward to the upcoming spring season with great anticipation. We would like to share with you what you can look forward to, in the world of men's fashions this spring.
Our domestic manufacturers are making a strong bid for a return to "Americana" and its roots in traditional tailoring, complimented with modern, updated fabrics. We're seeing domestic companies, especially Hickey Freeman, with their new ownership group, injecting contemporary fabrics that are imported from the finer Italian and English mills, into the mainstream of American fashion. Fine 16 micron Australian Merino Super fine wools, some of which are blended with Silk, Linen, Cotton and Cashmere are being tailored into light-weight, soft garments, well suited for the up-coming warmer climates. With their classic full-canvas tailoring and lighter fabrics, these garments are easy to wear and very versatile. You'll be seeing more suits worn open collar in softer fabrics and jackets, coupled with dressier jeans.
The Italians continue to push the envelope and this season is no exception. Silk has had a strong play and they're blending it with everything. They're also showing it on its own merit -- pure, light and strong. Tailoring into almost weightless un-lined suits and jackets, silk seems to be the perfect visual compliment. Easy to wear, elegant, sophisticated and refined with a unique sheen associated to it, defines silk. Sleek contemporary silhouettes with "skinny" trousers and short jackets are happening; but, be warned, they are not for all body types, especially those men of more substance!
I've attached a couple samples which are featured in the Hickey Freeman spring collection, one in pure Australian Merino wool and the other a blend of wool, silk and linen. They can be custom-made to your exact size and style preference in a mere four to six weeks.
Remember for spring there are many new fabrics and silhouettes, and our message always stays the same...
